[9 October 2022] ZADNA has confirmed that the draft regulations have been sent to the State Law Advisor for review with “minimal changes”. The new framework should be place in the next 3-4 months.

The purpose of the draft regulations – created under section 68 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 2002 – is to
prescribe the requirements which Registries and Registrars must meet to be licensed and the terms and conditions applicable to all Registries and Registrars.

[17 September 2018] ZADNA has released a .za Registrar Fee review notice for comments, feedback and/or proposals regarding the review of the wholesale fee that applies to the .za second level domains. ZADNA members, .ZA SLD Registry Operators, .ZA Registrars, Registrants (i.e. holders of domain names), the South African Internet Community and the South African Public are invited to to provide their inputs on the matter by 15 October 2018 to ZADNA via email at submissions@zadna.org.za.___

This process will run in parallel to the discussion document and is intended to assist .ZADNA in understanding suitable SLR registry business model and registry system options.
