[10 November 2017] The Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services has published further, extensive amendments to the Alternative Dispute Resolution Regulations.

[12 December 2015] This proposed amendment has now been effected.

Amendment of Alternative Dispute Resolution Regulations

Regulation 2 of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Regulations issued in terms of section 69 read with section 94 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (Act No. 25 of 2002) is hereby amended by the substitution for regulation 2(2) of the following regulation:

“(2) Only Internet domain names registered in the.co.za,.net.za,.web,za and.org.za second level domains shall be open to alternative dispute resolution under these Regulations.”

[3 November 2014] The Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services has published notice of its intention to amend the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Regulations by expanding their scope of application to include certain  second level domains (`net.za’, `org.za’ and `web.za’) in addition to “.co.za”.

The Department has invited the public to comment on the intended amendment as well as on which second level domains should be included.
