Presentation of Legacy Report of 6th Administration to Portfolio Committee for Communications and Digital Technology (PCCDT)

___

[7 July 2014] The May 2014 general election process brought an end to the fourth Parliament to sit in South Africa since democracy. Part of the process of handing over the business of Parliament from the fourth to the fifth Parliament is for parliamentary committees to prepare reports – referred to as Legacy Reports – summarising their activities and focus areas for the previous five years. These are then considered by the incoming committee with the intention of ensuring a degree of continuity and follow-through.

The process has been complicated this time around by the decision of the President to split the former Department of Communications into a Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services and a new Department of Communications.
