Filing of Tariffs

The Standard Terms and Conditions Regulations read with the Code of Conduct Regulations and the End-User and Subscriber Service Charter Regulations require that licensees notify ICASA of any termination of product/service, amendment of product/service, new product/service launch, and any product/service promotions, at least 7 business days prior to implementation of same. These are to be sent to tariffs@icasa.org.za.

ICASA has recently advised Ellipsis that all such notifications are to include the following details:

  • The objectives of a new product, promotion, amendment or termination of a product/service;
  • The reason(s) of a new product, promotion, amendment or decommissioning of a product/service;
  • The effective date of a new product, promotion, amendment or decommissioning of a product/service; and
  • The period that a promotion would be in the market for, if the filing is a promotion.

ICASA has indicated that the reason for same is to allow it to monitor the market whilst ensuring that there is retail price transparency.
