[11 May 2014] Precedent in telecommunications law is a rare thing. Below is a link to the judgement of the South Gauteng High Court which deals, inter alia, with the circumstances under which a radio frequency spectrum licence will have been deemed to have lapsed as a result of non-payment of annual spectrum licence fee.
Given that the judge’s refusal to grant the relief sought by WBS implies that they currently do not hold any spectrum licences and their continued operation is illegal, it should not be surprising that an appeal has been noted.
